Using Bluetooth on Latitude D800

Hi,
My configuration is D800 + WinXP Pro + SP2, it includes bluetooth, however I haven't used it yet. I would like to connect to my iPaq.
- Network connection through a bluetooth is prepared and enabled.
- Device is installed correctly and drivers are fine (at least Device Manager does not indicate anything wrong).
Unfortunately the tray icon indicates that 'network cable is unplugged' for bluetooth and any help tips provided in WinXP help suggest me to use "Bluetooth devices" folder in Control Panel while I do not have such folder at all.

Any idea how to start to use bluetooth? Thanks in advance.

You mean BT config on PC?

Yes, detect all devices (nothing is set in the list box below).

No. No reaction on PC.

Furthermore, I tried to connect manually by using the Get Connected button (ActiveSync on PC) - it searched through all COM posts (not only the selected COM4) with no result (no mobile device found).

Well, the general cause of all of this is Windows XP with SP2.

System tries with all its power ;-) to override Dell's drivers. Finally I discovered how to setup everything:

1. Uninstall every COM ports, and the Bluetooth device from DeviceManager

2. Manually (!) remove all Microsoft drivers for bluetooth (all bth*.inf/pnf files). The best solution would be to move them from Windows folder to your temp or beckup folder.

3. Install R53708.EXE and then R82522.EXE - everything should be working

The only thing that I had was problem with COM port numbers: subsequent installations resulted in having numbers greater than 16 (e.g. COM17, COM18) etc. and Microsoft ActiveSync does not want to work with numbers greater than 9.

I overcame this problem manually removing unused ports from system registry.

Tha last problem was with COM ports seen by the Bluettoth configurator: it was not possible to choose for example COM4 (even if it existed) but only COM10 (which I left). And again I had to manually update system registry (locate entry by your ActiveSync function name in your language).

Currently everything works fine.
