[Vostro 3400] Unable to install Wireless Adapter

Hi All,

I just got a Vostro 3400. I am unable to locate the drivers for my wireless adapter. I have tried installing all the drivers available under Network Drivers section in the Dell Resource CD. But still I don't see the wireless adapter in my OS (Network Connection).

Under Device Manager, I can see that there is one unknown devices which is "Network Controller", which I suspect is the wireless adapter.

I tried search on Dell website for the drivers, but apparently it is having the same drivers as the Dell resource CD. Any help?

Have attached screenshot for better understanding.

Thanks.

The network controller is not your wireless card. The wireless card will be listed under Hardware Device Manager, Network Adapters. If you just purchased a new computer, contact Dell Support for help. They will help you reset to factory settings. You should not have to install drivers. A new computer already has all the necessary drivers. You do need to set up your Network Connection. Use Network and Sharing Center to set up your wireless connection.

You should never install 'all the available drivers' for any hardware. Know what hardware you actually have before installing any drivers.
