Vostro 410 cannot connect to net

​I have a Vostro 410 that up until yesterday was working fine, now I cannot connect to the net at all. I simply don't know what's wrong.​

​The light on my Netgear DG834 router stays at amber indicating no connection and the network connection icon in the system tray has a small red cross next to it.​

​I've tried restarting both the PC and the Router without any success. I'm running Vista HP.​

​I'm at a total loss as to what to do.​

​EDIT: Out of desperation I restarted the machine again and lo and behold the connection returned. I don't know how or why but I'm not complaining​
