When wireless router (Linksys) is connected - I cannot get on the internet.
I get the Server cannot be found message. The signal is good. If I type in an IP address it goes to the page, but the website name will not register. So, now to get online I have to unhook my router and go back to LAN and directly link to the broadband modem. Can anyone help me figure out how to fix the DNS?

Is your broadband modem a cable modem? If so, are you performing the following network reset everytime you switch between a computer connecting to the modem and the router connecting to the modem?
Note that if you are changing the connection to modem between a computer and a router, you need to do a complete reset of the network every time you make the change. To do this, shut everything off. Wait about 5 minutes. Turn on the modem first, and wait another 5 minutes. Then turn on the device that is connected directly to the modem (either the router or the computer), then turn on any other computers that will connect through the router. This is necessary because a cable modem will remember the MAC address of the last device it was connected to and will not communicate with any other device until the reset procedure is followed.

If you are not doing the reset that I described above, then your internet will never work when when you switch back and forth between the devices connecting to the cable modem. Did you try it?
