WIFI-card switches off after a while

Question

I have a Latitude D830 with 32-bit Vista Business (Hungarian) and Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection that seems to work properly, as I can use WIFI after system startup, but after a while (a few hours) the card is switched off.
On the Power Management tab in Properties I UNCHECKED the option that the computer is allowed to switch the device off to save energy, but nothing has changed.
One thing I noticed: in the "Network Cards" section of system devices ISATAP is not working: the device can't be started.

Any ideas?

Hi Bill, I had the same problem and in fact the new driver solved it - the card doesn't switches  off. Unfortunately, after update I have started loosing packets (about 7% Request timed out). Do you have any idea how to solved this problem ?   Regards, Amdil   Precision M4300 Vista Ultimate

I think it is better when there is only a wifi connection (the wifi card was not switched off), but it is back to my problem when there is a cable connection. And most of the time I have a LAN cable plugged in. It is really annoying as I cannot switch the card back but only to restart the laptop. Please, help me.

Hello Bill! I didn't mean the wifi card switches off right away, but after a while. However, it remains the same even if the ethernet cable is not plugged in. I tried to install it once again, and there is an error: the installer can't find the wireless LAN adapter's driver... So, now I am confused. Cheers, Bob

Nothing changed. It seemed to be better for a few days, but it's back to switching off after 1-2 hours. Reinstalling the driver didn't help. Any other idea?

Hi Bill, I have the same issue on my xps, at a seemingly random period of time the wireless just switches off and the only way to get it back on is to power down and back up again. I presume you have my servce tag details etc from this message. It is infuriating.

I do have Bluetooth on at the same time, but as I use a bluetooth mouse, I don't really want to turn it off.
