WiFi connection problem

Hi...

I have a Dell Latitude D620 with a 1490 Mini-Card (updated TODAY to latest drivers), which I can't connect to WiFi :smileymad:

I can get a list of available networks, and my preferred network has a allmost full connection strength, so that's not the problem.

I've set my pc to use WPA encryption (which is used on the router) and provided the correct password.. I do not have access to any unencrypted WLANs, so I can't try without encryption.

But all I get is "Accuiring network address" :smileysad:

On the Dell Wireless WLAN Card Utility --> Statistics, I can see that lots of packages are sent, but NONE are received..

Can anyone give me a few pointers???

As a troubleshooting step, try temporarily disabling WPA encryption on the router you are trying to connect to.  This will help you figure out whether or not it is the WPA encryption that is causing the problem.

You might have noticed that I never suggested that you permanantely disable encryption.  I suggested it as a troubleshooting step!!!  Anyway, if you are going to criticize, at least you should be willing to tell us what you did to get things working!  It might be helpful to other users.

When I write "I do not have access to any unencrypted WLANs, so I can't try without encryption.", i
I won't consider disabling encryption a very good piece of advise..

Anyway, I did manage to get it to work..
