wifi does not working

Question

I am using dell inspiron N 5010 laptop. Recently i have formatted my laptop with windows 7 ultimate 62 bit version. After that my wifi is not working although i have install associated drivers . now my laptop does not show up Network Adapter  In Device Manager. what to do?

Hi jahidakhtar,

I would suggest you to try flashing the BIOS on the system. Please enter your service tag # on the link below, select the operating system, and then download the BIOS from the BIOS section onto the system and install it. After the BIOS update please check in the device manager if you find unknown device. Also, please reply us with snapshot of the device manager.

Thanks  for your reply .As per your advice when i try to flash the bios i encountered with another problem. As my battery is not working the bios can't be flashed .Is there is any other way out ?

Yep. I would reach my hand into my laptop screen and do a lawn mover man thing. :) You can always get your computing device professionally serviced. -OR- Try the killcmos tool. It clears the bios bubble memory. People would do this if there is something stuffed up in the ACPI controller bubble memory. That will set your computing device so you may see the battery life come back. The wifi is a problem. It is always a problem.

Hi jahidakhtar, Sorry for the delayed response. You will need the battery so that you can update the BIOS so that it would hard reset all the hardware on the motherboard.
