Will this Modem work and what drivers?

So my Dell 8200 (the last with the 400FSB and 1.9 P4) has a broadband connection, so long ago I removed the PCI modem.
Now a friend of mine has been given a Siemens P2 Computer with Windows 98 and had been told the modem didnt work.
No, problem I thought, he can have mine, so we fitted it but of course allthough it can detect the PCI communication device, it cannot find drivers so.
Anybody able to direct me to drivers that will work with my old Modem from my Dell, (do I need to take it out again to find out what model it is?), in my friends Comp with windows 98.
Will it even work?

Cheers

yes find what model it is perhaps in device manager, and download the drivers from dell support

Most newer WINmodems that are PCI only work with WIN98SE/ME/2000/XP

They dont work with WIN98 due to lack of Drivers for VXD vs WDM for Win98SE.

Cheers for the replies.

I also have a slightly later modem from my 8300 and found I couldnt get Win 98 drivers for that, Iam still waiting for my friend to advise me the model number of the card I gave him, but I expect it will be the same story.

In which case, anybody know of a good cheap modem that will work with Win 98?

Cheers
