Wireless 2350 and Nortel VPN client
I cannot get a connection to my work VPN using this client and the 2350 router.
The connection is immediately ignored.
I think that the VPN client is hitting the router which is set to defaults. Do I have to do anything special to the router settings to "open a port or allow an IP" for example?

Just set the router to allow your VPN ip address.
In my case, I am using the Nortel VPN client with Entrust security.
I have no problems connecting to the switch.

Can you be specific as to where in the Dell documentation that ships with the 2350 that information is contained? Several of us are having difficulty helping people with problems with their 2350's, because Dell has not posted the manual on line.
I have a copy of the manual because I downloaded the 2350 control utility and manual, in hopes that I would be able to be more helpful with problems people have integrating this router. As you know, the manual is a series of HTML documents. I just searched them for the string "VPN", and found no details at all.
By default, the manual is installed in the directory C:\Program Files\Dell Wireless 2350 Control Utility\User's Guide. If you'd be so kind as to post which file contains the information about allowing the VPN IP address, it would be greatly appreciated.

Give me all the details and I will be in a better position to help you?

Thanks, but the problem I and others who help people with router problems are having is the state of the 2350 documentation. Like you, I could likely experiment with the router and find the relevant settings. If I had to do that for every router I've helped people with, I'd have a roomful of routers! :smileyvery-happy:
That's why I was wondering if you'd found the information in the manual somewhere, or experimented with the router until you figured out how to get the VPN connection working.

Phil8400,
QED! :smileyvery-happy: And that's the reason "johnallg" made the comment about "a real router"! Many people setting up a home wireless network don't understand routing, much less VPN passthrough. And Dell Support officially doesn't support the "advanced functions" of any of the Dell routers, so more often than not the user is stuck.
Could you perhaps outline the steps you took to get the VPN connection working?

That information, simple as it sounds in retrospect, will help the next person get their VPN client working successfully through the 2350. It's much appreciated.
