Dear PudgyOne,

Finally I managed to solve my problem by resetting all my hardware (modem+router+change SSID) and also reset tcp, ip, winsock & firewall using netsh.

Thank you for your guidance.

aazren,

Places to look to see if your Connection is enabled

Try running the Finding System Information Tool or an ipconfig /all log and post it back here. Maybe it will give us a clue on what is wrong.

aazren,

Did you install Windows 7 Pro? If yes, did you install the drivers in the correct order? How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order If you installed Windows 7 Pro, the chipset drivers need installed first or the rest of the drivers will fail to install.

If you're next to the wireless router, can you connect?

Restart the computer and press F2 and enter the Bios. Make sure the adapter is enabled there. If not, enable it, then save and exit.

Start, control panel, device manager. Right click on the DW1520 Wireless-N Half-Mini Card, and make sure it says enabled. While there, double click on the DW1520 Wireless-N Half-Mini Card, advanced. Look and see if this adapter has antenna diversity. Some adapters have this and some don't. If your adapter has this, change the Antenna Diversity from Auto to Aux, then save and exit. Restart your computer.

Start, control panel, network and sharing center. Click on your network, then click on properties. Look for TCP/IPv4 and TCP/IPv6, then click on properties for both. Make your settings match mine.

Start, control panel, networking and sharing center, change adapter settings. Make sure the wireless connection is enabled.

You should then be able to enable the adapter in the device manager.

Rick

Hi PudgyOne,

Yes, I'm using Windows 7 Pro (32 bit) as it is a preloaded OS since I bought (DELL online purchase) this Vostro 3400 for about one and half years ago. And it does not create any problem before this.

For your information, I had done the steps as your suggestion but unfortunately it doesn't work. From the BIOS setting, it shows that the adapter is already enable.

My problem is the Wireless Network Connection is not connected where it does not detect my home AP but only shows my neighbour's AP.  However, I managed to get connected using my neighbour's AP without any problem (where Wireless Network Connection can connected to internet, seems like wireless adaptor work fine).

What I'm confusing is that other network device (other notebook) can connect to my home AP but not vostro 3400. Futhermore, my vostro can also connected to other AP as now I'm using my neighbour's AP.

Any suggestion to further investigate my problem ?

Really need your help.

Thank you

aazren,

Power off your ISP modem/router and your wireless router(if any) for 30 seconds. Power on your ISP modem/router. Wait 15 seconds, then power on your wireless router(is any)

Restart your Vostro and try to connect. What happens?

What type of security and channel are you using in your wireless router? I use these Recommended Wireless Router Settings I use channel 11. If you need to change anything other than the channel, I would make a new SSID to make connecting easier.

Hi,

Just now I can connected to my neighbour's AP but I still cannot detect my home AP.

I also had restarted router and vostro ... still not works ...unidentified network ....looks like Wireless Connection not connected but can scan others AP.

Hi Aazren,

Let me ask this first, were you able to ever connect to your Home AP from your Vostro ??

Hi,

Yes I did update the wireless card driver.

I also did change the SSID but still not working. My wireless network connection still cannot ON.

I'm still not understand why I get Unidentified Network and cannot enable my wireless connection.

Really need your opinian and suggestion. Does it related to the configuration and setting. How to change current profile (Public) to Home Network ?

Hope to hear from you.

Thank You

aazren,

Start, control panel, network and sharing center, manage wireless networks.

Right click on the networks there that are not working, left click remove network, then restart your computer and try connecting manually.
