wireless can't pick up high speed internet in the house...help needed

hi all, this is just to explain my situation better:

 

I didn't have any problem with my wireless before. I used to have a DSL in the house and I can access internet thru my wireless in the other room.

 

Now i have LAN connection or a high speed internet. But when i try to access internet in the other room with my wireless, the network in my house is not showing in the list of available networks around.  Now all the other networks in my neighborhood are locked, that's why I cannot acccess the internet thru my wireless. I wanted to pick up the network in my house, but i can't. does it have something to do with my cable modem? or do i just have to click something in the settings. I tried everythings, so please help. thanks a lot.
