Wireless Card 1450 randomly changes speed and disconnects
I just bought two new Lattitude D600's that came with the Dell Wireless 1450 Dual Band card. We have a Dell Trubmobile 802.11b wireless router her in my office. Both laptops randomly drops the network connection. The speed also randomly changes from 11Meg to 5.5Meg to 2Meg then back to 11Meg on both laptops. Signal shoes excellent on both. As I type this is just went from 11Meg down to 2Meg.
I have another D600 that has an Intel 2100 card and it has no problems at all and stays at 11Meg all the time.
I called Dell and they said this is the first they have heard of this and recommended updating drivers. I did this on both and it did not fix the problem. I'm thinking of ditching these cards and going back to the intel cards but wondered if anyone else is experiencing this?

when you say disconnect do you mean that it just disconnects without warning if so id there still a network icon that tells the signal strength or is there a red X next tot the icon. If it disconnects but says that the connection is good then that is a known problem in windows XP

I looked at that article. Thats doesn't seem to be the problem. I loose connection using XP's config and the cards config. What is really strange is the card changes speed all the time from 2 meg to 5.5 meg to 11meg. Never stays the same. This happens in two laptops. We finally got fed up with it and purchased two new Intel Pro 2200's and they work perfect. No connection drop and no speed change.
