Wireless connection fails after power-on

I am trying to setup a wireless connection between laptop <-> TouchSpeed 780 WL modem <-> ADSL etc. on my laptop Inspiron 6000 with Windows XP and INTEL 2200BG communication card
step1)use modem installation cdrom to install modem software and configure modem,card,system,.. etc.etc. and whow at the end I have a nice 54 Mbps, strong signal internet connection and this stays up as long the laptop is up (no sleep, no doze); then I goto sleep and shutdown the laptop and the next day ..
step2)power on laptop, wait a while and : no internet net connection possible, no modem, nothing; if I try modem address 10.0.0.138 in browser, I get nothing; so only way to proceed is togo back to step1) and use the cdrom to install and configure the modem etc etc, and so on every day this last week
Maybe this is what life is all about, but why ?
How can I force the INTEL card to save the settings from step1) or how can I instrall/configure the INTEL card to find and remember my modem....
Thanks for help

Go into the Intel Proset and create a profile for your wireless network.

This link will show you how.

Also, you may need to update the driver for the card.

I tried several things, but
1)there is no intel icon located bottom right
2)telnet 192.168.1.254 starts and ends, but no login screen
(modem has green five lights all on)
3)intel proset utility found on disk (version 9.0.0.1) and started
4)added 4 profiles with different securities, the select "connect"
5)nothing happens
6)use cdrom to install modem software and make internet connection
then evrything is fine
7)do this everyday, intel pro worthless is unable to remember the correct settings
thanks anyway

On your DSL modem are you using Ethernet or USB?

Have you updated the modem firmware?

I am using SpeedTouch 780WL modem and assume it passes Ethernet through the air.

The modem firmware is updated every day when I use installation CDROM again

I checked version number in modem with webside, modem is oke

The parameters in Intel PROSet/Wireless profile are the problem
It's trial and error
For example : should a BSSID be used and where can I find one ?
Which security parameters are to be set ?

Someday I will find the correct parameters !

Thanks
