wireless connection
I just replaced my hp pc with a dell 4600C. I have a dlink router for my cable access so that all four of us can access the internet from any room in the house. My question is this. Am I out of luck trying to use my DLink Airplus card from my hp in my new dell? I sure hope not since I did not purchase wireless option from dell since I thought I could just install existing equipment in my new pc.
Any help?

There have been some posts describing which D-Link mini-PCI cards will work in Dell systems.
Here's one thread I spotted.

No I haven't tried yet. But after I removed the DLink card/antennae from the hp and tried to install it in the same manner inside the dell, it didn't appear to be the right dimension to fit. I made the assumption that maybe dell was not compatible with dlink's system. I guess I will get out the manual and read. Any suggestions on how I would determine which of the dlink cards would work for this particular computer? I visited dlink's website and got all the information but found nothing about compatibility.
Thanks,

We bought a Netgear wireless router and USB adapter but are really unhappy with the USB device.
So we decided to save that for some future laptop purchase and purchased the DLink device today.
My question? Will it actually fit into the 4600C tower? It didn't occur to me until we got the DLink home that there might not be an expansion slot.
Is this the case??
Not an issue right now as the DLink is going on an older no-name clone. But once the older machine is retired and the 4600C migrates to my partner, I am concerned that this will be an issue.
Feedback is much appreciated.
Thanks.
