wireless connectivity is constantly dropping out

I have a problem in which in any wireless network I am connected to, the internet will suddenly stop working (ie will not connect to any website) even though it still says I amcouple of hours connected to the network in the connection box. I will disconnect and reconnect (and it will say I am connected) and it still won't work until I restart. When I restart, everything is fine and then it happens a later. I have installed all of the latest drivers for my network card, I have a Inspiron 1501 with a Dell Wireless WLAN 1390 mini pci using a
Broadcom chipset. I am using a Belkin Router/modem with VOIP and WLAN and a 2nd Belkin Router as a access point. Connect via CAT 5 is fine. Some days i can be sitting beside both routers and the thing will keep dropping out... Any ideas suggestions will be welcome. I have read on other forums that the DELL wireless attenae is the issue...

I am having the same problem.  I have a quick question.  Are you using a wireless mouse and keyboard?

Do you know if Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard us the 2.4 MHZ frequency?  If so, do you think that could be conflicting with my computer's wireless card (Intel Pro)?  Also, my Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard's batterys were both critically depleted and I'm wondering if they were sending random signals.  What do you think?

do the routers and AP have a log file that you can access? Sometimes there are clues there.. had simular type issues and it turned out that the main router upstairs would suddenly go into reset mode for a bit..

1 - no, i am not using a wireless keyborard or mouse. I am using my laptop, a DELL inspirion 1501.
2 - The router AP is not restting itself, logs are fine. Thanks for the suggestion though.
Does nybody have any idea's. I have read on other forums that it is cmmon with DELL laptops as the attenae is pretty useless. I was hoping that there mybe another reason as i do not want to go down the path of putting in a Wireless card.....

I am constantly amazed at some of the myths out there.  I have several Dell laptops, all with internal antennas, and all work just fine.

One thing to try to eliminate possible interference with with the 2.4 Ghz signal is to change the channel your router uses to one of the extreme channels (1 or 11) and see if that improves things.

apologies, i didn't mean to click on the solved button !!! Look, what i have done is move the cordless digital phone as far away as possible from the laptop. It hasn'tsolved the problem ,however the rate of dropouts has certainly decreased dramatically. Also i was looking at replacing the wireless NIC but have held off to see how this goes. At the moment it is acceptable, so for so good

Solved my problem by replacing my Linksys router with a Dlink router.  Problem instantly solved and the new speed is two to three times faster than before.
