Wireless vs. Wired Internet conflict

Question

I'm using a Linksys wireless network adapter with a Linksys wireless router. Connecting to the internet is no problem until I connect a single board computer to my wired network adapter. The wired adapter is configured to use a fixed IP address for the single board computer on the wired local network. When I try to access a web site, with the wired network connected, I cannot access any web sites. It appears that Internet Explorer is defaulting to the wired network as soon as it becomes connected rather than using the wireless network. It's really strange that my connection to an online radio station continues to stream even when I add the wired network.

Is there a way to configure Internet Explorer to ALWAYS use the wireless connection?

Why do you need a fixed IP Address? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ jmwills, The program for the SBC is written for a fixed IP Address.  The only two devices on that network are the pc and the SBC (microcontroller).   The pc has two network adapters, one for the SBC and one for the business LAN.

I believe if you make the Metric Setting on the wireless card a lower number(0) and the wired (1), it will do what you want it to do.

Hmm...maybe I did something incorrectly but the changes I made had no effect.   Here's what I did: -Network Connections -Device Properties -General Tab -Select Internet Protocol(TCP/IP) -General Tab -Advanced Button -Unclick 'Automatic Metric' -Entered '1' for first adapter and '2' for the second adapter (Wouldn't let me enter '0')
