AMD verses Intel
Intel vs AMD.
or
Opteron verses Xeon.
I've read dozens of articles on this topic. If you google this you get hundreds if not thousands of articles.
After all that reading I still have not been able to come up with a conclusion. Ideally I'm looking for an article that is up to date. That compares the two across different categories.
For example, one article I read compared the two across these categories.
Day-to-day computing, Gaming, Multitasking, Photo editing, MP3 encoding, Video encoding, Price vs. performance.
It was a very convincing article but was 4 years old.
Has anyone come across any good information about this? I would very much appreciate this.:emotion-1:

This article is a year old, the writer is AMD biased though, there are some links in the bottom of article to other articles that may help you.
Here is what came up doing a quick search on it:

I personally like Intel's, I've had 4 of those and one AMD and they just seem more solid.
Good luck with your pick

At least as far as performance for individual processors goes, Tom's Hardware generally has a lot of good info and benchmark comparisons.
