Answering threads - email not. vs. forum answer

Dear all,

I´m new to this, yet have successfully started a request for tech help and received an answer.
Now I want to send another answer for checking a detail and what is more to thank the replier.

Here´s my problem / question:
1)  I received a helpful and elaborate answer,
yet only via mail, as I checked the "Email me replies to this post."-box below.
Unfortunately, I do not see this answer in standard forum view?
Does this mean, opting in for e-mail forwarding replies on the one hand
turns off display of these answers in the forum on the other hand?
This would not make sense to me at all, would it?

2) As the e-mail has a noreply-header, I also can not answer
via mail.

3) The answer I got is by:
Dev Mgr
Is this some sort of alias, i.e. various DELL service staff individuals
are replying under this nick, or is this a "real live" single forum user?
If so, how can I send him my thanking answer?

Sorry in case I just did not see the corresponding button or so.

Thanks for reading,
Greetings to all, and
tia for any replies.

mkagi,

On any emails you get from the Dell Community, you can click on the top subject and it will take you to the post. Since you're a new member(and Welcome) you can find your thread by CLICKING HERE. You can then continue to participate and/or thank the person(s) that were helping you.

The forum is basically 'user to user', Dev Mgr, is a member, like myself and does not work for Dell, all the Dell forum members are identified, by having 'Liaison' and the Dell logo included in their signatures, plus having 'Dell-', before their names.

Hello,

thank you shesagordie
and Rick
for your answers.

Think I just will continue my threat I opened and thus
reply to DevMgr, now that it is clear that he / she
is an individual, not an alias!

Greetings from Stuttgart, Germany
Sincerely,
mkagi
