Burning a CD

You need to use Roxio to create a Music CD.

To add, three additonal things to consider.  First, if you make an MP3 audio CD rather than the noted standard "Music" CD it will only play on CD players that specifically say they will support MP3 playback.  Second, the CD burn speed can be an issue with some audio CD players.  Keep the CD burn speed below 16X (I use 8X as my "standard").  Finally a third item, use a CD-R, not a CD-RW as some audio players will not play RW media.

I installed Roxio, now I keep getting messages about "buffer overrun", should I reinstall it.  Additionally, I used Windows Media Player to burn a CD, should I be using the Roxio program to burn CD's?

What model PC do you have?

Buffer problems (overrun or underrun) means you must have an older PC and either the CD burner does not have the buffer protection or it's not checked in the Roxio program before you burn.  In relation to burn speed, you must have a blank CD-R loaded in the drive BEFORE you can select the burn speed.  . 

Normally, the regular CD burning program is best as you can control the Burn Speed (I don't use Media Player and don't know if it has burn speed settings).  In addition, with older systems and with an older CD burner that does not have the buffer protection (sometimes called "burn proof technology") only have the CD burning program running when you do burn, don't have other programs open.  The buffer overrun could be bad CD-R blanks too.  If you have Memorex CD-R's they have a poor track record.
