Dell XPS 430

I have been pleased with buying this computer over 3 years ago. It has only one drawback.....limited options on going over 8 Gb of memory. I use two sticks of USB drives for virtual memory enhancement of 8096 GB. Is there a way to purchase a Dell motherboard and Intel processor with it to update the computer's memory up to 24 or 32 GB. I used it for several things including gaming. I updated the power supply, video card and memory from 6 to 8Gb without a problem. How do I solve memory limitations? Thank you

Hi RM Yates,

XPS 430 supports only 8GB memory. You definitely have an option where you can configure the system to your needs.

You can definitely purchase a mother board that can fix into the system and the requirements needed to upgrade to 32GB from a retail store.

However make sure the motherboard fits the chassis and it is compatible with other components on your system.

Please do get back to us on further assistance or information.

THANK YOU...Can you name a few motherboards that will also accept a newer Intel cpu such as I7? I really am attached to the XPS430 and I feel it would be cheaper to just change the MB, cpu and memory. I need one that has the required space option so as to get the proper fit.

Hi RM Yates,

Unfortunately we don’t have information on third party motherboards. You need to contact a local retailer and they will help you in providing the right motherboard and processor.
