Good day Mr. Samuels!

Thank you for Contacting Dell!

I'm glad to inform you that I have checked the records and it shows that your order for Inspiron 1011 placed under the order number ? has shipped and is with a courier for delivery.  Your tracking number is ? and the estimated delivery date for your order is on or before 12/24/2009.  Please wait 24-48 hours for this information to be updated on the carrier website.  If you do not receive the package by the estimated delivery date, please contact Dell.

Sent another e-mail dated 12-23-09 after a call to Dell.

I called customer service today to verify my order status, I talked to two managers and both of them told me the information that was provided to me listed above concerning my order is invalid. I was informed that my order ? is still in production as of today and they would not commit to a shipping date. The courier does list the tracking number but there is no information for it.

Please explain why the information contained in the e-mail below is not verifiable by your own customer service reps or is incorrect?!

thank you in advance for your prompt attention to this matter.

I did not receive a response to my last e-mail dtd 12-23-09, listed above. So I called customer service today (12-28-09) to verify my order status, I talked to an individual concerning my order they told me that it has not been picked up by the courier as of today 12-28-09. I was informed that my order ?, has not been shipped and will not arrive until Jan. 6, 2010.

I have prevoiously tried to update the shipping method to no avail, so today I tried to cancel to no avail.

This was a christmas gift for my 11 year old daughter, her christmas has been ruined.

I can be reached at ?.

Someone from the dell corporation needs to contact me about this order, ASAP, I have been dealing with the horrible customer service, which is located offshore in India, I would like to know if there are any customer service numbers stateside.

thank you in advance for your prompt attention to this matter

"as requested by the TOS police."

Dell has automated filters for may TOS violations. If the only violation is an order #, that is usually just edited out. Other violations, however, can get the post deleted....

Hi,

Bummer about the delays, but just so you know....

1) Dell does not consider these forums an official way to contact them, so I would not be too hopeful about a response here in the forums.

2) Since your nearly identical posts have been deleted twice due to TOS violation, perhaps you should edit ou the violations (the Dell email). That way, the post is more likely to stay on the forums.

Good luck.

I deleted the order numbers and the DELL rep information as requested by the TOS police.

I have had terrible customer service with Dell for years. I swear I am through with them. I spent over an hour on an international tour of their customer service. I asked for someone in the US and was transferred to the Philippines, India, and Latin America among others. No one could help me and I was given incorrect information and then transferred to the same round of non-service personnel. Dell does not care at all. I can buy their products cheaper at Sam's Club or Staples with better service. No woner we are in a Depression, forget recession.

I just been through what you mentioned above. I bought a Zino HD from Dell SG website (without monitor). When I received it last night, to my horror there was no AC adaptor and I can't power it up.

Called the CS and they thought I was buying laptop!!! Or tey said AC adaptor is OPTIONAL, my god.... I was thinking.....they gave me the merry go round and in the end I still around at nothing.... sigh....

I am returning it,hopefully it is an easier path..... I am buying a imac mini after this....sigh

I have been a Dell customer for many years, purchasing many computers and several servers. Coming from a technical background in computing, being a web programmer; all my friends a family come to me when buying computers. In the past I have always suggested Dell to them and no other simply because of the excellent product and customer service. But the last time I ordered a computer from Dell was in 2004 when I bought a high-end xps. Oh how things have changed.

I have ordered an Alienware system, and it has been delayed well past the original month and a half which I thought was rediculous to begin with. The system was reconfigured without my consent, and I was put at the end of another very very long queue. Apparently from the email that was sent, the memory that I ordered had "supply constraints". I have called customer service several times. I have gotten completely frustrated by constant transfers, telling them the order number, confirm identity, tell them the issue, hold, transfer, rinse, repeat, over and over and over. Finally totally losing all patience and then been hung up on twice when I have asked to be put in contact with the department that handles cancellations.

I did not receive the email that my order was requeued until about a week prior to the date I was originally expecting delivery, why does it take so long in the queue if they only look at my order less than a week before delivery?

I asked if it would be possible to send the originally orded memory to me once the supply had been replenished. I was told that I would receive a call "right back" with an answer. I didn't get a call back. I had to call back the next day. I eventually spoke to a 'supervisor' in customer service. The answer was"no" because the motherboard cannot handle the originally ordered memory. I do not like being lied to, as I'm sure you do not. The motherboard can handle the memory, the memory is just out of stock as stated in the cancellation/requeue email. I asked for the manufacturer and part number for the motherboard so that I could confirm and the "supervisor" refused to tell me. I then asked for a contact at Dell that I could speak to so that I could complain about my customer service experience. The "supervisor" said that they handle customer service complaints themselves. I couldn't believe that this was the way Dell handled complaints about it's outsourced customer service. So after scouring the Dell site and the web, all I could find was a "unresolved issues" form on the Dell site. I submitted my complaints and waited the 4 days for a response. The response was canned and mispelled and obviously from a foreign source. The email was a one liner saying that they were sorry and needed more time to get back to me. I looked at the signature and sure enough, the person responding was one of the people I had been dealing with previously (lied to by, told they handled their own complaints etc). Wow. I can only imagine how bad it will be when I have issues with my computer, which will apparently be the case considering all the recent blogging about the quality control issues Dell is having. What a nightmare.

This experience has not yet fully played out, but I cannot imagine it getting any better since it seems way past any reprieve.

joelw,

I posted this for exactly the reasons you mention above. Even though a lot of people say that DELL does,nt read this these posts I think that they do, and would hope that they take it to heart.
