How do i restore my computer?

I have somehow picked up a virus on my computer, Dimension E521, and i need to restore it back to the original "factory" settings.

I have heard of the Ctrl F11 option but when do i use it?  Also, if that option doesn't work, how else can i reset my computer?

Thanks,

Kaleb

The CTRL/F11 is used at boot up, if your PC has the Dell recovery partition it will allow you to restore the PC to the original power up condition.  But, before you do that, backup your user data as everything will be lost when you restore (same way if you do it manually, you must reformat the hard drive and everything will be lost).

HERE is the Dell procedures.  Once caution on a manuall install, the "chipset drivers" MUST be installed BEFORE installing device drivers.  Many skip over the device drivers and if you do that you will not be able to install the sound drivers and several other devices will not work or work correctly.  Although the Dell procedure goes into more detail, basically the install sequence is (1) Install Windows (2) Install chipset drivers (3) Install device drivers (e.g. sound, video, etc).
