Order Status Help please!

So I've been trying my best to stay patient with checking my order status online, and NOT calling dell directly, but today is day 6 that my order (configured inspiron 1545) has been stuck on 'manufacturing build complete' without moving to the next option 'ship from factory. So i called the order status phone line, thinking maybe there was something up with the online updates, only to be told by a recorded voice

"your order requires a customer care assistant to assist you, please wait while you're transferred.'

and then i'm told to call back tomorrow by another recorded voice. My question is, what could this be about? Has anyone been in this situation? Any ideas? EDD online is this friday, and i'm trying not to get my hopes up :emotion-6:

It does seem like something is "stuck".  Did you try calling?  If you're in the US, call 1-800-999-3355, and take the first option (check order status).  After the automated message, you'll be given the option to speak with someone.

It could be something as simple as they ran out of stock for part of it and are waiting for it. There could be any number of reasons. I would say just call again and do not select the option for order status and talk to someone directly. Don't be surprised to get transfered to several people all of which can not help you and possibly hang up on you. That unfortunatly is the way of the "New Dell".

My personal experience over the last week has been much more positive.  While I'm sad that my order has been a delayed a week (so far), I found that by calling 800-999-3355, and selecting the first option, (check order status), I immedately got an automated order status response.  Next, it asked me if I wanted to speak to a person (which I did once), who seemed rather attentive.  A couple of times I called when the automated system seemed to be down, and it immediately offered to forward me to a person.

Heya - I've been trying to call customer support for over 2 days. Each time someone tells me their software is down and call back in one hour. I think there is a major glich at Dell - expect to wait a LONG time.
