Hi, I've been trying to download drivers for a machine I was updating pretty much all day without any success.I've tried from two different locations to see if it was a communications error and it just keeps timing out. Gord

I, too am having problems. I'm going to try reinstalling Windows later this week, and Dell Support had sent me a link to a page where I could download some drivers for my out-of-date, out-of-warranty machine. (I lost the disk with the drivers on it.) I tried Sunday to download the drivers, either as one big zip file or individually, and I would either time out or get some other error. I tried again tonight and got the same problems.

I'm having the same problem.
When I try to download all (12) files, I get an error in a red box saying the "download all" function is currently unavailable and to try again later. If I try to download them one at a time, I clock and then get an "IE cannot display this webpage" screen. I'm using broadband and my connection is working correctly.
Please help us to resolve this.
Thanks

If you did NOT re-install the Operating System, I have a program that will help you make copies of all Drivers, Microsoft and Non-Microsoft. The all you have to do is burn them to a disk. The program is called wdrvbck1.exe. I cannot find it on the internet. It will require you to download 7zip to open the file.
If you send me a private message, with your email address and tell me you're requesting wdrvbck1.exe, I'll be more than happy to email it to you.
Please do NOT post your email address here.

I sent a message to someone at Dell to check into this. Please be patient as they will not get this message until tomorrow morning.
Thanks,

DriverMax is a FREE program for XP and Vista, which not only allows you to backup all the drivers currently installed in your system... but it can also check for updated drivers ;)

I am not having problems downloading, actually since I haven't tried. But am having difficulties updating them. I too, as previously mentioned by someone else, have lost my discs and computer is out of warranty. I have been told that I need to update the drivers as am not able to log into high security type sites (..ie, bank) as it gives me an error as soon as I hit "secure log in" button.
This is the first time I have been to your community and not figured out how to start my own thread or would have sorry. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

HunyBuny,
If you need the Operating system disks, just click on the link below my name and request a cet of backup disks. Also you can download the proper drivers by following these instructions.
Go to drivers and downloads, enter your service tag(DO NOT POST SERVICE TAG here or your post will get deleted, since it contains your personal information), and install these drivers in this order.
Desktop System Software or Notebook System Software
Chipset or SMBus driver
Processor Driver (if applicable)
Video
Audio (sound)
Input Drivers (keyboard/mouse)
Modem
Network Card

PudgyOne,
I have been having the same problemas others in dowloading the drivers listed on Support Drivers and downloads for my 2004 D505 running XP Pro. they list 18 to 20 drivers yet I cannot get them to download. I always get directed to the usual "page cannot be found" screen.
The original HD went belly up and I have installed a new HD and XP Pro but without the drivers I just have a nice doorstop, not a working jobsite laptop (I don't use nice new machines in an environment where tools, equipment and even trailers are known to "dissappear"...
Is there a FTP site I can go to and get them?
I do not need a new system operating disc, I need the original drivers listed by Dell as being available for download.
TIA,
JB Weld

Pudge,
It would be nice if you posted a link that actually went to someone at Dell not just an opinion and rating service...
Anyone have a link to anybody at Dell who can get me the drivers I need?

Click on the FEEDBACK button at the bottom of the page where you're trying to download the drivers from. A form comes up and you can report it.

I have a dell dimension 4700 desktop and i recently formatted it. Everything is working except my speakers. I downloaded the only speaker driver from the website and yet my speakers still do not work. If anyone could offer some help it would be greatly appreciated
