WIRELESS INTERNET/LAPTOPS
I HAVE VERY LIMITED KNOWLEDGE OF COMPUTERS AND RECENTLY PURCHASED INSPIRON LAPTOP. IS THERE A WAY TO GET INTERNET ACCESS IF I TAKE MY COMPUTER TO SOMEONES HOUSE THAT DOES NOT HAVE A WIRELESS ROUTER? I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY ADVICE!

Hello,
Unless there is a wireless signal that is not protected by a password you can't have wireless access.
If you did find an unprotected wireless signal, it would illegal to use it, and would also open your system and files to attack. :emotion-45:

If they have a regular router (without wireless capabilities), and if they have an available open Ethernet RJ-45 jack then you can access the internet that way. This means you have to be near the router and can't wonder around the house.
If your Inspiron has a modem, then you can access the internet via dial-up, but that would tie up their telephone line when you are on the internet.
