3010 SFF, sandy bridge bug
I recently bought a used Optiplex 3010 SFF off ebay, its got an i3-3220 However the chipset is an old Sandy bridge h61 revision B2. Aren’t those the ones that were affected by the Sata bug? The motherboard only got two SATA2 ports which I connected to my SSD and HDD. Should I be worried that the ports are going to fail at some point? According to the bios, the manufacturer date of the board is 2013, shouldn’t all defective chipsets already replaced by then?

Your system is over 5 years old and therefore no longer under any kind of warranty.

I Googled it, "Sandybridge h61 revision B2," and one of the leads is Wikipedia. It looks like your seller, or whoever owned your 3010 at the time, either didn't go along with the recall or was uninformed.* *It's not like companies always do big advertising on recalls.
Hopefully BIOS wasn't updated at some point in an attempt to bypass the recall. If the mfr. date isn't already on a sticker on the outside of your 3010, you may find time stamps on the inside.

Not even a timestamp on the metal casing and lid on the inside? - Huh.
The image I posted above will show up later. I'm only silver, and silver (I'm not sure if gold also) on down has to get approved by a moderator before it shows.
If you want, you're welcome to check out Google and Wikipedia on the recall subject also.
I don't know if you could still get a new chipset out of Intel, but it might be worth looking into.

No, I don't see anything. where is it supposed to be?
I also don't wanna get the power supply out right now.
I might just refund it and get a 7010 which has a Q77 chipset plus 6GB/s Sata ports and USB 3.

No firmware update can fix Cougar-Point chipset SATA glitch (it takes a new MB).
You should have some "Channel 0-1" SATA-3/600 ports. IIRC, those are not affected.

Obviously, a 7010 is better than a 3010. A 7010 Tower should be even better.
However, I get the feeling your are splitting-hairs here. All these OptiPlex x010 machines are very old.

I was thinking of that too - Get a refund and get something you're happy with. If you can't afford new, I strongly recommend refurbished whether you get it from Ebay or Walmart.com. Buying from a co. rather than individual seller also gives you a warranty.
I don't know how new Tesla1856's computer is, but the previous gen. of Optiplex's are very effective at running Win7 & 10. Many businesses and the city library here have the previous gen. and they run great. Refurb places are still putting Win7 & 10 on the generation from 10 yrs. ago. They run good, but are a bit old to quite click with me. Current generation Optiplex's are super expensive and go into the $thousands. - And still have small power supply in a mini tower.
I think you'd be happy with a 7010. The higher the model #, and 4 digits, the better the processor and expansion options. A 390 full tower doesn't have a full size motherboard and couldn't read my phone at the library. But a 3020 sff or desktop had no problem (same programs).
Many recent previous gen. Optiplex's come with I5 CPU's and some I7. A 5 yr. old Optiplex will still run things quite currently and effectively. They were made to last for commercial and corporate use. A home HP - one pays for the processor and the rest is cheap and flimsy. So there's my tips and info with all that.

Release date for the 3010 is mid-2012. So 2013 isn't out of the question for a mfr. date. Why yours has Sandy Bridge B2, I don't know, other than somebody missed the recall. I wanted to make sure someone else avoids it and was researching further.

2nd to the last post above was edited to reflect better accuracy. Automated emails have been going out with initial posts, but not with edits.

Just wanted to mention that the machine just started failing to detect the SSD on Port 0.
Sometimes it detects it but either freezes up during boot or ends up with a bluescreen.
No response from the seller when I asked for a return about a week ago.

I can still use it with a live Linux from USB.
But Windows I can't seem to install or boot from USB.
