5040 SFF UPGRADES
OptiPlex 5040 Small Form Factor
Hey, I just got a 5040 SFF (I7-6700) in order to replace my laptop. I want to add a GPU in order to run Fortnite to a playable extent. I have seen a couple forums saying that I am limited to a low profile GPU that is 50w or less. I'm wondering if I can upgrade the current 180w PSU to a 240W PSU from a 5040 MT and use a low profile 75W GPU like a GTX 1650 or 1050ti?
This video of a Lenovo ThinkCentre shows that a 210w PSU is enough to run an i7-6700 and a 1650. GTX 1650 & i7-6700 SFF Gaming in 2023! ThinkCentre M900 Upgrades w/ 210W Power Supply
I am brand new to anything PC related so forgive me if I am wrong about anything.

yes you can. MT and SFF psu have same form factor and are interchangeable.
1650 or 1050 Ti need to be installed in the PCIex 4 slot because those low profile gpu are double slot width
FYI the highest psu would be that from Optiplex XE2 SFF (315w) which has same pinout as 5040.
