7020 Micro Compatible Ram
Hello,
I found a cheap 7020 Micro with a 14500T CPU, 8GB RAM, and a 512GB SSD. After purchasing it, I plan to upgrade the RAM to 32GB. However, I’m not sure if I can find compatible memory.
According to the Dell manual, DDR5-4800 So-DIMM should work. Do you have any experience with this?
Crucial has a good compatibility database. While the 7020 Micro Plus has some listings, there’s no specific data for the 7020 with the 14500T. Should I go ahead with any DDR5-4800 So-DIMM module, like this one?

@anne_droid Unfortunately it doesn't, as it's for the micro plus which runs at a higher frequency (5600MT/s).
Have you had a chance to check the Dell manual?

I have and I am confused as there are at least 4 matches to a 7020 Micro.

2 are viable, in that they are not Tower models.
Of the remaining pair, I cannot isolate whether it is a 2 slot or 4 slot memory configuration.
So I will bow out with an omelette on me fizzog (egg on my face) to prevent further embarrassment to myself.

@anne_droid No worries at all. As far as I know, the Optiplex 7020 comes in at least three form factors (micro, small, and tower), each with a variety of configurations—memory, CPU, storage, and so on. RAM compatibility can also vary depending on the processor used.
In my case, I have the micro version with two SO-DIMM slots and an Intel i5-14500T. According to Dell’s official manual, it supports up to 64 GB of DDR5 RAM at 4800MT/s. However, I haven’t been able to verify this information elsewhere, so I thought I’d reach out here for any first-hand experience.
Thanks again for your time and input—much appreciated.
