A 9020 for Win 11
Hi,
I followed instrucys to chnage the bios and I got the black screen error
no bootable devs found F1 to retry boot etc.Chect diags and everything was correct.
I have since changed undid some of the changes and now it does not say it is no good for 11 and boots okay inti 10 which I have.
It does seem slower than before but that may be my imagination.
What do I need to check please ?
Thank you
oz

Please can you confirm the Make Model and OS, along with any configuration details like touch screen, backlit keyboard, SFF or tower etc etc.
Perhaps post some pictures of your current BIOS settings to help us to help you?

These systems use a fourth-generation i7. Windows 11 requires a minimum 8th gen CPU.
If you want official Windows 11 support, it is new(er) system time.

Thank you for the replies. Been too busy to get back.
With the latest Win 10 the 9020 seems to be taking a while to start up and a bit sluggish in loading programs.
I only have 1 script at Win 10 Startup.
I have tried to show my BIOS settings as I feel maybe there is something to change there, but it will only upload 1 image.
Thank you

Hi
I don't see anything wrong.
I do think with 8 GB of memory the system is really limited.
Therefore it maybe that that has a lighter OS installed, and you move onto a more recent Model and Windows 11.

@anne_droid Many thank for your suggestion. Yes you're correct however I was hoping I could go up to W11. I have another good 9020 box with Zorin Linux on it which is great but this 9020 has our accounts and admin on it which are only for MS not Linux.
Can you see in the Bios that I could make a setting with the TPM, Secure Boot etc required for W11?

The only way you can get Windows 11 to run on a system that old is by bypassing the CPU, TPM and secure boot checks, none of which are available for Windows 11.
You may be able to get Windows 11 installed, but only in unsupported mode, without the CPU and TPM security features.

Hi
Well , whine away... sorry WINE, or VirtualBox or summat similar, on either of the 9020's.
Whether the above will accept updates etc I know not, but it is worth a try, surely?
