Can I use Intel i7 3770?

Hello, I want to upgrade my machine from i3-2120 to i7-3770. My Bios Version is A22. Why is my PC not starting with my new CPU? What is not compatible?

3rd Generation CPUs are not supported and this tech document has more information and a list of supported CPUs. The 790 has a Q65 chipset and as shown in this chart at CPU-upgrade, the Q65 does not support 3rd Gen CPUs.

JO has nailed the issue.  Dell has not written a bios update to support 3rd gen cpu in Opti 790.  Only 2nd gen sandy bridge cpu are supported.

Just remember 790 BIOS does not have overclock.
