CPU upgrade 3050
Basically i have a optiplex 3050 tower with a i3-7100 and its got 16gb ram ddr4 and i bought I5-7500 and i put it in and got power for a second and turned off, the i3 works just find and my bios is 1.21 what is the problem?

try replace cmos battery and clear cmos settings.

@redxps630 it didnt work I took out the CMOS battery for a few minutes and put it back in and it still does not turn on

Sounds like the new (presumably used) CPU is DOA -- return to seller for a refund or replacement.

OP you need to use a new battery and then clear cmos via motherboard jumper.
