Dell 9020 mini tower.
I am looking to add a 2nd hard drive to this rig but I am having a lot of trouble figuring out how long of a Sata data cable I should buy. 5 inches is too short. So should I get an 11 inch one or something? If anyone has a link to the item I should get then it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Sata cables are cheap so buy a couple. Buy the same length as the drive you have now. See your manual-- https://topics-cdn.dell.com/pdf/optiplex-9020-desktop_owners-manual2_en-us.pdf

A common size is 18-19 inches and usually will reach OK for most computers, if it's a little too long, it won't matter, but do get a good quality cable, (most important).
If you're OCD and determined to get as short as possible, use a piece of string to measure between the sata socket and the drive, and add an inch or two to account for the connectors. Or, buy every length you can find and throw away any leftovers which are too short.

You have to make sure that the cable is 90 Degree on one side and the right orientation or it wont work due to the way the hard drives are mounted. Same is true for SATA Drive power must be Right Angle.

That cable in your link, is the data cable needed to connect the HDD to the motherboard right? Also, do you think I should go ahead and get that one and see if it will work?
