According to the Dell specs and Crucial the maximum is 8GB. However in this forum thread a user has reported that 16GB is working properly in his/her 390. Specs are not always the gospel truth. I have a Latitude E6420 that supposedly has a maximum RAM total of 8GB but is happily running 16GB without a problem.
