When running any drivers for windows xp from dell official support driver page on my Dell OptiPlex windows xp x64 pro sp2 machine, it tells me the drivers are not an official win32 application. i found this error around a year ago on another installation, but forgot how i fixed it. i believe i use updates, but not sure which ones or where i found it.
specs
500gb ssd
8gb ram ddr3
i5-3470
intel integrated graphics
Windows XP x64 PRO Service Pack 2

@redxps630 so the driver install package is broken on older than windows 7 , so i extracted using 7ZIP and then it works fine, thanks for the help anyways!

Well, you see, i downloaded both winxp 32 and 64 drivers. both did not work on 64 x (NOT BIT64 which is IA64 which is different, ) so i will try win 32. as i said before i think it may be some sort of update required but im not sure.
edit: well as ive been looking... xp 32 and xp64 drivers for my pc optiplex 7010 are the exact same, filename, size, contents, and everything so its not the driver or x64 part.

the 64 bit XP is often tricky as it was the mainstream XP os then. unlike the later 7 and 8 or 10 which are mostly 64 bit. I would not be surprised that the Dell driver has bugs inc/w 64 XP.
