I can't answer your question.

But I have a question for you ...

Do you want this because you are trying to run Dual-Monitors?

Or, are you just trying to connect an older single monitor to the Display-Port of your Optiplex-7090 SFF ... that only provides a HDMI-port for its input?

@Tesla1856

hi thanks for your reply, its not for dual monitors, my monitor is new but doesn't have a display port, so am using DP to HDMI lead, and in the past had problems with DP to HDMI leads

The internal SPMD (Spare Parts Master Database) for Optiplex 7090 SFF shows = Dell part HXPK2

@Alanbouet ,

@Tesla1856

1. its not for dual monitors, my monitor is new but doesn't have a display port,

2. so am using DP to HDMI lead, and in the past had problems with DP to HDMI leads

1. Kinda strange (unless it's a HDTV).

2. Your use-case scenario is the common-one. Not real fond of them myself, but if it's a "quality-one", they seem to work fine. As long as picture is good, still at proper resolution (and Sync Hz refresh-speed stays correct) you are usually good-to-go.

I have a couple around here. I think one is Apple (or Apple certified) on my Mac and I have a Cable-Matters brand one on my (3 screen) Virtual Pinball Cabinet.

But yeah, you are correct ... native ports (with a high-quality simple-wired cable) is the preferred connection.
