dell optiplex 760 MT graphics card
i found an old optiplex and wanted to put a graphics card in it, and play some old games, right now it has a e8500 and 2gb of ram, i also can’t identify the motherboard model number, i was also wondering if it’s possible to swap the mother board so i can hold more RAM, but what would fit?

It uses DDR2 RAM, unregistered, and is commonly equiped with a core 2 duo. RAM might not make too much of a difference in speed, personally I would put 2-4GB in.
The integrated GPU is good enough, a dedicated GPU will only give you a bit of an improvement. Some GPU's are not supported, you might want to Google if people have been successful using that specific GPU before buying

Optional 305W power supply is needed if you are using 75W video card.

Use OEM System builder DVD to install 10 on this model.
Then use the CAB file for ALL Drivers for this model.
A win7 COA key can be used to activate 10 on this model.
XP and Vista COA systems will need to buy windows.
This model is sold with windows 10. Not supported does not mean not working fine.

As for motherboard swaps (if swapping with another brand), Dell is too proprietary. Includes proprietary front panel wiring, down to the fan wiring, down to the screw holes. Not entirely impossible, but one really has to be an expert to do it.
As for swapping with a Dell MB from that generation - often the back panel layout is different.

@donm4599x,
Didn't you know? Business PC's have less power than home PC's. Who knew?
Optiplex's are business PC's and business PC's don't make good home PC's. To further enhance this, Dell put GPS's in Optiplex's that can't be disabled. You won't be able to find them either. As soon as an Optiplex senses it's in a house, it squawks, revs all of it's fans and flies away like a drone to the nearest business.
