Forgot BIOS Admin Password

Hello Dell Community,
We have a Dell OptiPlex 3080 that was purchased by a company which has now shut down. The previous administrator set a BIOS password, but they have left the company and the password is unknown.

There is no CMOS reset jumper on the motherboard, and removing the CMOS battery did not reset the password.

We no longer have access to the original purchase documents or support account from the company that bought the device.

Is there any way to reset the BIOS password or request a master password from Dell in this situation?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Hello @Zokoz,

try transferring ownership if you know what company this was originally purchased from (if other than Dell). Afterwards you can reach out to Dell and they should have alternatives to proof ownership of the device other than original invoice.

Dell can only provide a master password if you can proof to be the rightful owner of the device (or part of the company that owns it).
