I updated my BIOS now what?

I've never understood much about the BIOS I must admit. I just used Dell "support/assist" and updated my BIOS from A11 to A24. I have to say that Dell made it simple and dummy proof. Everything went as smooth as a babies bottom.

My question is, just what the heck does this BIOS upgrade do for my system? Does it unlock my ability to upgrade my RAM from 16gb's to say 32gb's or what?

This 990 I have has been a sweet machine and it purrs like a kitten. I try my best to take good care of it but I would like to upgrade my RAM and my CPU and just for the **bleep** of it upgrade my video card beyond the 1 gb ram one I've recently install.

Once, a staff member gave me some good specs on some CPU's; But I can't decide which one would be most beneficial to allow me to unlock and upgrade to more RAM and a better video card. I did take her advice and upgraded from the list to an AMD HD 6670 1gb video card and it works great but now I'd like to upgrade the CPU. What do you think; to do all that I want will I have to upgrade the MOBO as well as the chip or will one of the CPU's work to open up the existing MOBO? Here's the list: Some will probably say just buy a new system, well great give me some suggestions on which one; but it has to be a Dell!
