If the computer came with Office then sometimes.  Newer versions of office generally are downloaded now, so you may need to log into a microsoft account to download it.  If you do not have a license or it didn't come with the computer then you will have to buy a new license.  Or you could get openoffice or libre office for free.

You answered me very fast, right after I posted I unhooked the monitor off the main computer I have been running and hooked it up to the 990 MT..It does look like it has all the Microsoft stuff loaded so I might be ok on that..

Would you happen to know this ? On the bottom of the screen on my 990 since I installed the Windows 7 on it and then put it up and kept using my main one,but it shows this.Windows activation    3 days until automatic activation.activate Windows now..then it shows the product ID #..I have never seen this and wondering if I should click in it and see what it does ? As of right now I have Internet connection but I can't download any updated wen browser like Chrome Mozilla etc..it keeps showing Do not click on this/these websites..any ideas ? Also Thank you for replying.

If you loaded Win7 fresh, it'll need activating.

Is your Microsoft Security Essentials up to date, or other antivirus security?  You should be able to download Chrome and Mozilla anyway granted it's from a trusted source.

I did load this new hard drive with my genuine Windows 7 disk but I did it about 6 weeks ago and didn't activate it,now when I click on Activate it shows the product key is invalid..I didn't know I needed to do it right then so now I guess I will have to buy a new product code and type it in here,or..I doubt this would work but un-install and reinstall Windows 7 and try my product key again,or contact Microsoft and see what they say.

I feel so stupid with not activating the Windows and asking these questions.

That's what I like about Dell Community - I was able to get questions answered, answer others, and learn from it.  If I knew then what I know now, I would've bought a different Dell 2.5 yrs. ago vs. always doing upgrades and to what limit, but I still learned from it.

Thanks for the kudos.  You might need to see my above post again.  Your kudo came in at the same instant I was done editing.

You'll find it in the control panel or in the part of the task bar on the right that expands.  It uses icons that look like fortresses.  In the task bar, if it's not updated, it'll look like a yellow fortress with "!".  Once updated, it turns green with a check mark.

If you have Win7 Pro 64-bit, hopefully you won't have software or secuirty update issues might show that need troubleshooting.  According to Tesla1856, Microsoft hasn't done anything with my version for a long time.

Yep,I can tell this is a great forum just by many posts-threads I read prior to asking any questions..good communication and info on time and accurate..

I just got luck and called an 888 Microsoft # and got my Windows copy verified as a genuine copy of Windows and activated..I called and they texted me some numbers and I entered them on my computers screen and it's ready to go,all for free..now I have to figure out why it keeps showing THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS WEBSITES SECURITY CERTIFICATE. I think I will try to find the Microsoft Security Essentials you told me about and see what I need to do.

That's good how you did that..I don't have the experience or mind to think like that..my deal is electric guitars and amps, and I have been fairly lucky with not having many issues with any computer that I have or have owned.

I guess I will just buy a new product key and get this 990 up and running right..it and my main one were both running perfect until a power outage zapped both of them and 1 more desktop at the same time,so I swapped pieces here and got the 780 up and running and figured I would go ahead and do this 990 now,it runs great. I will be  in the background here reading many threads to help me learn more.

No need to feel stupid.  You're on the right course with troubleshooting.

Since my computer usually isn't online (phone is my only internet), I kept the calendar backdated for the longest time (removed CMOS battery too) until Win7 caught on anyway.  Not that I can condone that.  I then ran WiFi from my phone to activate it.

Of course, always double-check that the product key is keyed in correctly.

On the task bar I went through all of Tools,Safety, and Page and the rest of it and saw nothing like that..now I just clicked on Internet options and see the security tab..Protected mode is on and the Security level is set at medium-high,right in the middle. Other than that I just went over the 4 zones. .geez I am not believing I can't figure this out..I do have McAfee 2019 with 5 more devices to install on,but probably won't install because this computer won't let me get to another website to download an updated browser or anything .

Though it won't show right away, I'm attaching a photo.  Little arrow on the task bar should show you the fortress - Security Essentials.  Start menu > Control Panel should show Windows Firewall and Windows Update at the end of the list.  If Control Panel doesn't show you everything and instead just shows about 8 categories, you might have to switch views.

Sounds like a virus problem, especially if this is the same computer you mentioned in your other thread.  If you get Windows working normally, but can't access Microsoft Security Essentials for some reason, your McAfee is definitely the way to go.

Ok I am back on my main computer and see the Fortress picture and have read what you say there, also I can access Windows firewall..but I couldn't get it,the 990 to let me do any updates..I did find a possible solution to the main screen once I click on the Explorer logo and goes to the screen that says about the websites security certificate..i believe thats what is also holding me up so tomorrow morning I will start back on this on the 990..I need another monitor so I can be running this 780 and the 990 at the same time, its so much easier typing on this large keyboard.

I will let you know tomorrow once I try these few supposed ways to get the 990 going..time to sleep.

Thank you for all the info,I feel like I have learned some good info today here so until tomorrow........Thanks !!

Upon further review, when I took the screengrab photo, Microsoft Security Essentials isn't in the Control Panel of Win7 like I thought.  I might've been thinking of XP.  I see you found its fortress icon.

As for the website security certificate issue, I'll have to let one of our other experts answer that one.  Many things I can answer, but certainly not all.

Tip:  This interface has its glitches.  Photos don't show while signed in.  Something like @moshpit903 doesn't show while signed in either.  Sometimes, when I want to see photos or see things like they're suppose to show, in the thread I want to see, I sign out and use the back arrow once.  That's the way it works with Android anyway.  Photos show after being approved my a moderator.
