Mouse scroll issue WM118
Dell WM118 Mice has scroll issue because of potentiometer, very common to fail in 8-10 months, While Dell MR0028 mouse doesnot have this issue because it has optical scroll sensor, i feel its planned obselence by Dell by short changing the customers
i have had this issue for few hundred mice in my organisation and 9+ mice home
i think Dell should revert to optical sensors as because of potentiometer there is high rate of failure, the reason Dell went to potentiometer is because of cost or energy consumption, anyways its a disaster/Fail

Have you noticed the same scrolling problem with any other Dell mouse models, or does it mainly happen with the WM118? A failure rate like that across so many mice does seem worth looking into.

Sure yes, WM126, this mouse also has potentiometer, the scroll issue starts after 18 months, i have dozen bad once of this model

Dell MR0028, which i have no issues one of best made mouse, never fail on scroll or click, i guess i had this one for last 10+ years, i have to keep three WM126, and three WM118 in spare, at home just because my wife and kids love the ergonomics,
if these mouse have (WM126, WM118) optical scroll they are best mice in world and would never fail if used properly
Hope i am not the only person noticing this issue there may be millions more for sure
