optiplex 3010 processor upgrade
Hello people!
I am upgrading an old optiplex 3010. I installed an SSD drive, I am about to install an R7 340X graphics card, and I have an old Intel XEON E3-1220 that I want to install as well. The BIOS is the A10 version. Is the XEON upgrade possible- with or without the BIOS upgrade?
Thank you in advance for any thoughts you might have

According to this forum post and this spec sheet, the Xeon CPUs are not compatible. However the i7-3770 has been used successfully. Having said that this YouTube video shows a Xeon upgrade so I would say a big maybe.

If you have a Xeon E3-1220 Sandy Bridge CPU, it will not work.
If you have a Xeon E3-1220 v2 Ivy Bridge CPU, it will work.
Whenever upgrading a later released compatible CPU to an earlier release system, update BIOS to the latest version would help with compatibility.

I can't comment on the R7 340X without knowing what form factor/size your 3010 is.
