Optiplex 3040 bracket for 2,5" SSD
Hello from Germany!
I bought an old Optiplex 3040 Mini Tower form factor.
Now I want to replace the 3,5" HDD with a 2,5" SSD.
What kind of bracket do I need to fit the SSD into the cages above the PSU?
Look at the pic, the SSD is 1 cm (~ 0,39") too small to fit.
Thx for your help and best regards
Peter

If your Dell came with a 3.5 hdd it may be using the Dell 3.5 hdd caddy 0CW33.
You can use a Dell 3.5 to 2.5 adapter to mount the 2.5 ssd then install the adapter like a 3.5 hdd in the caddy. Other generic 3.5 to 2.5 adapter would do too.

Thx for the info @redxps630
I dont want to use the regular 3,5" slot for the 2,5" SSD(s).
Look at my pic, I want to use the other two slots above the PSU.
So what kind of brackets or adapter is needed to fit the SSD(s) into the smaller cages.
Thx and best regards
Peter

I know exactly the DP/N of the 2.5” caddy for your model. X9FV3
It is about $7 on eBay.
