Incompatible RAM?  This PC uses 1600 MHz, DDR3L (Low voltage) RAM.

If that's what you bought, you can try clearing BIOS to see if it will recognize the new RAM:

  1. Power off, unplug
  2. Press/hold power button for ~15 sec
  3. Open case and remove motherboard battery (check Service Manual for details)
  4. Press/hold power button for ~30 sec
  5. Install both new RAM modules
  6. Reinstall the battery
  7. Close up and connect mouse, monitor and keyboard
  8. Reboot

And if it is DDR3L and clearing BIOS doesn't help, the RAM isn't compatible....

Hi All

I have been having the same problem of upgrading my Dell memory too, having tried all of the option posted and 3 different rams, said to work with my system, I thought let’s see if I can get one that matches the part numbers and other numbers that it was marked on the memory, by looking at pictures of the ones for sale. Got the nearest I could find, exact part number, exact type (not missing the L as this is important), same make, 4 digit and 10 digit number close. This worked for me and system booted as expected!
