Optiplex 3070 Hard Drive Not Detected
I am troubleshooting an Optiplex 3070 with a NVME hard drive that is being reported by BIOS as not detected. After resetting BIOS settings to default, the issue went away for a few days and returned earlier today. I also followed the troubleshooting steps using the QR code and error code generated by my system, but nothing works. Does anyone have any recommendations? I upload a picture of the error message.

How old is the system? (Since original manufacture)
Over 5 years?
If so most likely the BIOS settings in CMOS are unreliable due to the battery wearing out. Try changing it for a new CR2032 then reset to factory defaults again, change anything that needs changing & you should be good to go.

Hello and thank you for replying so promptly. the BIOS version/date that, from what i gather is the manufacturer date of the PC is 11/14/2019, and the original install date (of the operating system) is 3/19/2021. The time and date on it is perfectly synced. Why do you think it's the CMOS battery when the PC is only about two years old without showing any apparent signs of a bad battery?

Suggests the BIOS settings are "leaking" & the coin battery being almost fully discharged is overwhelmingly the most likely culprit. Since CR2032s are so cheap I'd try fitting a new one anyway - if it doesn't work the cost is small & if it doesn't you're into motherboard replacement territory.
CR2032s usually last over 5 years in the BIOS settings backup mode but it's possible a bad batch got onto the production line.
If buying your own go for the silver oxide type rather than alkaline which don't last nearly as long. The cost difference should be minimal.
