Optiplex 7000 Tower Missing Parts

Hi,

I recently took delivery of an Optiplex 7000 tower with missing parts:

- Dust filter (325-BDMP). Missing. Opened it up, took off the front bezel - no dust filter. I paid for it, it's on the packing slip, but it's missing. I would like one, please. Thank you.

- NVME screws slots 2 and 3. Missing.

- 2.5" Drive Caddies. Missing. The 3.5" caddy is there, why not the 2.5" caddies?

Let me discuss the last 2 items if I may.

I purchased a tower system because I would like to upgrade it later. If I wanted to purchase a computer that wasn't upgradable, I would have purchased a Micro.

So after having spent over $1000 for a new PC, would it kill Dell to include all the parts - proprietary parts, I might add - that would allow me to upgrade the system? Must I scrounge around for caddies on Ebay later? The 2.5" cables are there, the 3.5" caddy and cables are there - why not the 2.5" caddies?

But no, Dell always nickels and dimes the customer. Same thing happened with my Vostro 470 many years ago. Missing drive rails. This is like buying a car, and the dealer asks, would you like brakes with that?

I tried to explain this to Order Support, but it flew right over their heads. Supervisor too. Conversation goes something like this. "It's not on the packing slip". "But it should be". "It's not on the packing slip". "But it should be". And so on. Do you have anyone in Order Support who truly understands customer service and can think for themselves? I guess not.

So I'm giving you a choice.

Send me the missing parts, or send me an RMA.

Your choice.

Thank you.

I hear your frustration. Agree w nickels n dimes.  Most people on this forum are not Dell employees though, just users.  Not sure if the community mod can help you on this missing parts issue.
