Optiplex 7010 orange light and burning

Question

Hi ive owned a dell optiplex for 4 months now. It just randomly shut off and the power button started to blink orange. I tried resting the RAM but didnt work. I then also smelt burning (electrical smell)  also the psu green led was no longer lit. Plz help. Also heard no noises when happened. I cant aford new parts so need help noww

Also should point out from amazon renewed .I checked the service tag and it says its from 2016. Most of the competents chnaged .

Green LED means power is getting in. When that goes off the fuse is blown. Your power supply was going bad now its fried.

I agree with Mary. Since it's only been 4 mo., try complaining to Amazon and/or the marketplace seller and see if you have any luck.

You said parts changed. It makes me wonder what parts and if a GPU card was added.

Either way, agreeing with speedstep, PSU is fried.

That model came out in 2012. The service tag might have been changed. If all the parts have been changed, it might have overloaded the motherboard or have incompatible parts. You should complain to Amazon and to the actual seller on the Amazon marketplace. As you know, Dell does not sell on Amazon.

Blinking orange power light means bad PSU. From the description of other things, like random shut-offs, further confirms it.

Did your 7010 come with any type of warranty? I suppose not. I was just looking at a few on Amazon and only saw a 90-day guarantee.

It's not unusual for some refurbs off of ebay to have 1-year warranties. May be next time add warranty coverage if you can. PSU's on ebay for the 7010 are fairly cheap. Be sure to include the size in your search term.
