Optiplex 755 MT Smooth CPU Upgrade To a Quad
I wanted to post that I recently upgraded from an Intel Core 2 Duo 3.0 GHz to an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 3.0 GHz.
It went smoothly and I didn't have to reload Windows 7.
Only 2 catches:
I have to move my Playlists back into Windows Media Player. WMP lost them.
If I want media files to back up any faster to flash drives, I'd have to use USB 3.0.
A Q9650 ain't no i7, but the computer is working great and startup lag is shorter.

Good work.
Yes, a quad-core CPU is about twice-as-fast as it's little brother dual-core.
These old desktop machines ... I don't even keep them any more if they aren't at least a quad-core.

Thanks @Tesla1856.:Smile: My computer still acts like new. The more I work on it, the newer it seems. I couldn't afford the computer I wanted for Christmas, so I decided to dress up the ol' pig and it's working.:BigSmile:> I can hardly wait for my USB 3.0 stuff to get here.
(This incidentally posted before I was done before due to the jumpy interface when trying to place the cursor.)
