Optiplex 990 SSF Ram upgrade

I currently have 4, 2 gb ram sticks however, I would like to upgrade it to at least 16. I was thinking of getting 2 with these and keeping 2 for 20 gb total but wasn't sure if these would work on the computer.

Thanks, and I appreciate any help

Those are high density and not likely working

16 gigs is not an option with only 2 ram slots

if you have 4 ram slots then these work fine

DDR3 PC3-12800 • CL=11 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3-1600 • 1.35V • 512Meg x 64 •

Although Dell has not validated 8gb ram stick in this model, users have successfully installed 32 gb (4x8 gb).  This is an often heard success story.

2x8 GB + 2x2 GB should work for you.

990 SFF has 4 ram slots.

Avoid KVR (Kingston Value Ram), as this has caused problems in Dell's.  Regular Kingston is ok.  Crucial has a lifetime warranty, but can be a bit pricey considering the age of the 990.  A-Tech is a brand I use with a lifetime warranty.
