OptiPlex gx270 requirements for drives

That PC uses 3.5" IDE/PATA hard drive. Not common in these days of SATA.

nobody ever uses 20year old PCs, why are you, doing this with endless $50 PCs dell sold new, with even Gen4 i5 intel CPU CORE onboard.  why do this, it is only going to be hard and expense... OK

I have your answer , i see only PATA Hard drive there but boot order is wrong, booting to Sata Aux drive

the RTC coin cell battery is dead.  that be first things first x10 here,  no coin cell ever lasted 20 years. 2003 is  17 years.

next is bad HDD, never seen one me that old good. not now.

and reset BIOS and set the HDD0 (PATA  - NOT SATA) As the boot drive and in BIOS order top of list !

and it boots    up  and runs XP,(or windows 2k)_ IDK boots and in 5 min flat on the web,(www) the PC is now infected 10x ..

XP is a virus magnet and this PC does not run w10. sorry/?
