Some compatible cards:

  • 30w GT 1030 GDDR5
  • 30w-47w Quadro's P400, 600, & 1000
  • 50w RX 6400
The Red Dragon version of the RX 550 is 65w.  PCIe x16 slot in 9020 SFF tops out at 50w (per spec) due to PSU.

The SFF requires smaller and low powered cards. It wouldn't work anyway with the limited power supply.

That Optiplex model is 10 years old now.

it is likely that it can fit on the Dell Optiplex SFF 9020. However, it is important to note that the Optiplex 9020 SFF has a 290-watt power supply, which may not be sufficient to power the graphics card.

These are the alternates that you can consider:

GeForce GT 1030 2 GB GDDR5
GeForce GTX 1650
RTX A2000
Radeon RX 6400

@BillyFeltrop

SFF is not the same as an MT.  MT has a 290w PSU, whereas the SFF has 255w PSU.

The GTX 1650 is 75w and exceeds Dell's max spec of 50w.

RTX A2000 is a double-slot 70w card that will not fit in an SFF.

Some on YouTube do still install 75w cards in their SFF's.  But, then it just needs to be noted it's outside of Dell spec.  I haven't seen it noted how long a 255w PSU lasts powering a 75w GPU.
